Rare and scarce species in the Longnabber area
The following rarer species have been recorded at Long Nab.

Surf Scoter in Burniston Bay on 26th September 1997. One flew north on 23rd June 2015.
White-billed Diver at Cloughton Wyke on 8th February 2003 and flew South past Long Nab on 29th October 2008.
Fea's Petrel flew N on 21st September 2014.
Great White Egret on 1st September 2008 and one flew over at 1440hrs on 15th October 2017, and was later relocated at Johnson's Marsh.
Spoonbill two flew south on 6th June 2004.
Pallid Harrier 1st summer flew north on 6th May 2016.
Rough-legged Buzzard singles flew south on 28th April 2015 and flew north on 25th October 2015.
Red-footed Falcon a female on 27th May 2017 lingered just 20 minutes or so.
Dotterel at Cromer Point on 16th August 1998, a trip of seven between Crook Ness and Cromer Point on 13th May 2001 increased to 15 by the evening and remained until 15th when 17 were present. One on 24th-25th May 2004. One in the field on north side of Crook Ness on 17th September 2014. One flew north on 5th May 2015.

Purple Heron at Johnson's Marsh on 20th June 1995.
